The band contested today Saturday 21^st February 2009 in Grade 2 in the "Brass in the Valley" Entertainments contest, Fivemiletown

The band moved up a grade from Grade 3 to Grade 2 this year and faced some stiff competition in the form of last years winners, Ballyduff, 3rd Carrick and Wellington memorial.

The band played the following programme

1. Fanfare & Flourishes
2. The Nightingale
3. The Ashokan Farewell
4. The New Colonial
5. Malaguena

Despite not performing anywhre near to our ability, the band was pleased with the 2^nd place, just 2 points behind last years winners, Ballyduff, and many thanks goes to Keith Anderson, our conductor who has taken the band on a steadily upward spiral!

Our Solo Horn player, Sheila Mulligan, played with Laganvale in the Championship section, and helped them to first place in the Championship section!
